Who are these children and what happens to them?

Community Killer

In the last two years (as a direct result of the growing methamphetamine problem in Clermont County) more than 40 children have been removed from their homes and placed in the custody of Children’s Protective Services…The monetary cost to the community to provide temporary homes for these children is over $500,000...

Who Are These Children and What Happens to Them?

  • Often the children are forced by their parents to be INVOLVED in the production of the methamphetamines
  • Most of the children taken from homes with meth labs are young-under the age of 8 years old
  • Often other relatives are also involved in the "family business"... thus when removed, most of the children end up in foster homes
  • Many of the parents are unable to kick the addiction to the drug and permanently lose custody of the children
  • Depending upon the circumstances of the lab, these children may be affected emotionally, psychologically, and physically FOR LIFE
  • At this point, the long term effects to exposure to meth is unknown
